Eddie Hearn
Says the right things and as a promoter I guess u are gonna get flack (was my old Job) but the measure of the man is when u delve a bit deeper.
When he was FUCK ALL and representing low level golf events, Kell Brook stood up and backed him. He went against the grain and allowed Eddie to promote him.
Kell is now on his arse and desperate for the Amir Khan fight for a last pay day and that barrow boy cunt is having none of it and pushing for his other fighter Conor Benn to get the fight.
It really fucks me off and I feel that this shows him for what he is?
Game changer? Are u joking, this Saturday aside, his cards are a joke.
Thoughts?

No I'm not on gear and it's not a rant. I know a few of you like boxing and interested in ur thoughts.

Business innit. No future earnings to be had out of Brook.

Re: Eddie Hearn
my thoughts are that he's never had fuck all, not with his upbringing and old man. fuck all is having to get up at five every morning for a twelve hour shift. totally agree about a lot of his shows, the recent three at his mansion were dull. I also expected more, when he ya talked about setting up the channel & the world class talent that was coming in, two of which were darren barker, laura woods and the bird who was with stormzy :.)

Re: Eddie Hearn
Totally but still feels like a huge kick in the nuts. He could help him out. The bloke isn't in a good place but he literally swerves any chat about the 2 of them cos he sees the mega money I'm Benn vs Khan (which by the way is a total mismatch)

Re: Eddie Hearn
Brook cut him out of a deal to go fight someone in the US I believe. Not sure either party owes the other anything.

Kevin Davies...that was the terence Crawford one wasn't it...yeah maybe that has something to do with it

Re: Eddie Hearn
It's always come across Khan not wanting the Brook fight, which is strange as he's never been the same since the bad eye injury and Khan would have a decent chance. clearly Benn is close to a title shot and Khan would be a good scalp

Re: Eddie Hearn
Eddie Hearn signed Kell Brook and for years tried to make the Amir Khan fight. He then signed Amir Khan for a three fight deal and still couldn’t make the fight.

Now they’re both washed up and everyone has little interest in it now.

Why the fuck would he bother?
He doesn’t owe either of them anything, he’s helped them many times over many fights, securing big money deals for them both.

Re: Eddie Hearn
Brook Khan is 50 50 (i think it was always in Brooks favour until he aged) and Benn Khan is a walkover for Benn. Interesting that in the business scheme of things that's the more appealing fight for hearn. Game changer.

BB - I think ur prob right and as kevindavies reminded me, since Brook stiffed Hearn on Xrawford fight....suppose there is no loyalty

Re: Eddie Hearn
If a card was put on that was genuinely 50/50 or wanted by the public then Hearn wouldn't be needed.

A promoters job is to push a SHIT card

Oh, Brook loses to Khan for me.

Khan too quick for Brook, IMO.

On the subject of boxing promotion was it not Bob Arum that said
‘If you want loyalty buy a fucking dog’

Sums it up, great quote too, have used that in work plenty of times

Re: Eddie Hearn
I remember listening to Hearn snr. In an interview a few years ago when he was ducking a Fury AJ fight, he was asked why the doesn't just agree to a fight with Fury as it's what the fans want, his response was "I don't care what the fans want as we're in the business of making money not doing what the public want"

Make of it what you will but promoters are only interested in one thing, what's in it for them, which may go some way to explaining why the fight game is not what it was

Re: Eddie Hearn
Smarmy cunt but he knows his stuff in boxing and at least tries to get the best fighters to fight each other. Of course he wants to line his pockets too but that goes with the territory.

I can tolerate him.

Re: Eddie Hearn
It’s a fairly simple recipe…the lowest risk fight for the highest possible reward.

I actually think he’s done a lot for boxing and for Brook too but every dog has its day. Not sure Brook was too bothered about matchroom when he was pissing it up in Spain and getting stabbed up. The Golovkin fight was one of the best live sporting events I’ve attended of hundreds.

He gets a lot of stick but has grafted relentlessly to build matchroom boxing through the sky deal and then globally.
